Nrityagram
On Tuesday, March 1st, a large group of students from Grades 7 & 8 of Inventure Academy will come to Nrityagram to meet the cast of "Boy with a Suitcase" and watch rehearsals Yeah! What fun!
Check out Nrityagram http://www.nrityagram.org/
I'm attaching some pictures by David Benito Garcia (on of the protagonists in Boy with a Suitcase) of our days at Nrityagram. We wake up at 6.30am and are ready in our rehearsal space at 7am to start the day with Silent meditation. We then do Yoga (led by Sophia) Core Training for Actors and Meyerhold's Biomechanics exercises (both led by Kirtana) before we have breakfast and showers.
We start our morning rehearsals at 9.30 am. We break for lunch (boy, we're starving by then) at 2 pm and start rehearsals again at 4 pm and close for the day at 8 pm. How does that sound, guys? Actors days are fun days, huh?!
Oh, and we have the sweetest dogs at Nrityagram. Karma, the basset Hound. And Guru, Thambi and Swamy - the three Doggie Cowboys. They run to greet us (not Karma, she lies on her beanbag in the sun) and are beautiful and brown and HUGE.
Oops, sorry. Tried to attach David's pics, but couldn't. Will ask him to post them himself, ok?
Till later then...!

Do I Know You?
Ranga Shankara, Bangalore and the Schnawwl Theatre, Mannheim are working on an international theatre collaboration called DO I KNOW YOU?
One aspect of DO I KNOW YOU? is a play for young people, Mike Kenny’s BOY WITH A SUITCASE that will be directed by German director, Andrea Gronemeyer, with an ensemble of Indian actors and musicians from Bangalore and Mannheim. The play will be performed in both India and Germany.
As some of you in Mannheim may know, Schnawwl Theatre recently performed an Indian play - DAS LIED VON RAMA. And some of you in Bangalore may have seen ROBINSON AND CRUSOE, a play that was developed by Schnawwl in Mannheim and then performed in Bangalore and was directed by a Bangalorean, Gracias Devaraj, who now lives in Germany!
So... you see we have many connections and hope to make more in the future through our CYBER-CLASSROOMS.
What is a CYBER-CLASSROOM? Kids in Bangalore and Mannheim communicate with each other through New media - email, blog and eventually Skype.
So watch out! Expect pictures, videos, audio files, words...
Expect to find answers to the question - DO I KNOW YOU?!
